Not that it matters now but your upgrade is with the operator come end of contract, not the 3rd party. I was worried about that in case I didn't want just a Nokia.

I was quite surprised I got it to that tbh as up until then the best deal was that for £35 p/m anywhere else

I got my phone through CPW, only downside I've seen is when I needed to change my tariff, I couldn't have the exact tariff I saw on o2's website because I didn't originally buy through them so the online deals didn't apply to me. I still got the minutes and texts I needed but didn't get the unlimited free internet, I would've had to pay another fiver a month for that

Me and my family have bought 6 or so phones through mobilephonesdirect and the only issue is with my brothers and somewhere long the line the free entitlements offered by them were not passed to Orange and despite several phonecalls and emails from orange and the mobsdirect still take between £80 and £130 a month off my mum but that's part orange to blame

No hidden ties Rich. I was worried about this when I got my N8 through NokiaDirect.co.uk.

I recent;y got my new handset from Phones4u. I had 10months left of my Orange contract, they gave me the monies to pay that off, (£300 cash in hand) and I got a brand new phone, £30 p/m unlimited texts & internet and 600mins.

Always got a better deal through Carphone Warehouse than anywhere else tbh.

Hmmm, carphone warehouse seems to be favourable atm then.

There's no hidden ties, I got my last contract from some random place on the internet because it was cheapest.

It isn't hugely clear if there's any hidden ties that's the problem!

never taken any fancy deals out through them, I've just remembered cpw did give me something like £30 towards accessories.

In my experience those £xxx off your bill deals through CPW etc. are a nightmare as you have to remember to post your bill or some shit like that to get your rebate.

Never had any problems Rich, had my n95 through CPW a few years back, and had my iphone through phones4u. A lot of the handsets (or at least used to) come unlocked through CPW.
