Arrived today. £9.50 code from 'GSMLiberty.net' so I could get the code instantly (rather than ebay listings which are being forced to post them to you) and I'm sorted.

Had a bit of a scare when it decided not to find the Three network APN details, but soon sorted that manually. Great phone, a nice change to the Apple quirks I've gotten used to.

Get an unlock code for a tenner off ebay.

Quick update. Was watching a few Nexus ones they were hitting £300. Instead put in an early low bid on a Desire an won it for £266 in as new condition

Locked to orange, but it ought to be simple to unlock it, if not I could sell it again for more than that

Nice one - I'll keep an eye out in that case :)

They are just about exactly the same, if you get a Nexus cheap go for it.

There will be ROM's with and without HTC's sense for the Nexus anyway if you fancy trying it, no loss if you don't.

Hmm, I'm still tempted. As far as I can tell the only difference is the HTC Sense UI which (tbf) I've not used so no idea whether its good or bad.

Desire.

Google stopped making the Nexus because they said the Desire done everything better.

There's not much difference though, the other main factor was that they didn't sell anywhere near as many as they would if it had been sold through networks.

I know. John never stops banging on about them.

I'm not going to spend £400 on a PAYG phone though, nor am I wanting to take out a contract.

I'm after a new phone to replace my aging N95 and these two are looking top of the pile. iPhone is nice enough, but I don't want a contract and they're a bit common.

I've been watching a few on ebay and it seems the desire is hitting £325ish, and the Google about £250/275. I understand that underneath they're pretty much the same phone but a bit worried since Google kind of scrapped the idea of selling them.

There has to be a reason why they're selling for less - can someone tell me why?
