If you haven't already, try this:

- turn PCs and router OFF
- wait about 60 seconds
- turn router ON and wait about 5 minutes
- turn upstairs PC ON, see what happens then

If the upstairs PC seems OK, then the issue was either to do with router or downstairs PC.

Assuming it's OK afterwards, turn the downstairs PC ON and then try using the Internet on the upstairs PC. If it doesn't behave again, then the problem is something to do with your downstairs PC.

You should check whether your PC upstairs is automatically downloading updates for Windows/virus scanner etc. as that normally slows up the Internet when you first boot into Windows.

On my systems I set them up so it notifies me of any updates rather than downloading automatically.

Just looking for abit of advice really im having some issues with my internet and thought id ask on here!

My computer downstairs is connected to Virgin cabe which is run into a Belkin router. The internet on the computer downstairs works fine and is as it should be.

However when i use the computer upstairs its really slow 9 (taking around 3 mins to load a website) Im running it on windows 7 and when i open the trouble shooter for the internet it says there is an issue with the network adaptor.

Does this mean theres an issue with my router or will it be my network card in my pc?

Im really not great with computers so any help would be great!
