Have you got the software for your graphics card ? Rather than the windows one.

Enable the second screen and extend the desktop onto that screen, then play about until it's fixed, sometimes the only way.

Usually on one of the F* Buttons there is a image of a tv and LCD. Which you have to press with the Fn button, have you tried this to sort out which unit you view it from?

No one know how to sort it then? :(

Nope no button like that on mine. The problem is once I plug the HDMI cable in it seems to think that the TV is the laptop screen so its displaying the picture on it at the wrong settings. So thats why the picture doesn't fit on the screen properly. And it wont let me change which screen is which.

Doing my head in. Nothing has changed for it to decide to do this.

On the remote control of the tv, there is usually a 'size/ratio' button. tried playing with that mwg?

This is what it displays like on the TV:

Can see there is no File menu on the top left or minimize, restore down or close buttons on the top right cos they are off the edge of the screen.

These are the options I get:

I cant change which is the main monitor. Am I looking in the wrong bit?

You can see in the Windows Mobility Centre window that it says there is an external display connected.

Just using the laptop normally now the screen is fine. When I plug the HDMI lead in the picture displays on the tv looking ok but it goes off the edge of the screen. The picture on the laptop looks funny when I've plugged the HDMI in.

I cant get my laptop to recognise my tv as the external display. I'm using a HDMI cable like I always have done and all of a sudden it thinks my tv is the normal display and that the laptop screen is the external display. Cant seem to change it and the picture shown on the tv is off the edge of the screen, its too big as it thinks its the laptop screen.

Any ideas what to do? Nothings changed, its just had a hissy fit this time when I've come to plug it in. Tried turning it off and on and again not having any luck.
