I always found the genius' were the only people in the shop who had a clue what they were talking about. Rather cocky ish some of them though.
Still when i've had problems they've been ace.

My mate used to be a Genius at the European flagship store in London (Regents Street).

He is now a Communications Project Manager earning £35k straight out of Uni.

Despite what you say the Genius' are trained really well - he was always skipping Uni to go on courses.

Staff in my local store were spot on, took a while to get seen though

They'd probably self-destruct if you asked those sort of questions.

Cant stand any phone / PC shops in general. I find as soon as I look at something I get jumped on by at least 3 of the staff one after another, its so annoying, I dont want them to tell me how RAM can help me speed my computer, I know this shit already, especially when its some 60 year old woman who's quite obviously been given a script. Ask them slightly more difficult questions like whats the CAS timings on that RAM? :look:

I heard John works for Apple as a 'Genius'.

The Milton Keynes store is pretty good. The staff have always come up to me and asked if I want help - very friendly on the whole. Only been in there 3 or 4 times though.

Hate the whole 'genius' thing though. The last genius I spotted looked like the comic book guy out the simpsons :lol:

I like the shops, it's a bit different, but in my experience they won't bloody leave you alone ffs, been to Bristol, Cardiff & Birmingham

I think I prefer PC World to be honest.

Most of the staff are still clueless but at least you get attention from them!

Trick with any shops like this is to look interested in the most expensive thing in the shop then when they ask if they can help take them to what you want.

I was extremely close to buying a macbook pro at christmas, I didn't due to the staff not having a clue what they were talking about, this was the shop in Leeds.

I went into the Apple store at the Bullring in Birmingham the other afternoon, I haven't been inside an Apple store since like 1994!

Doesn't really look like a store as such, just a few MacBooks/iMacs/iPods etc. spaced out with specs and prices in small print :lol:

People seemed to be going in there to use the machines for checking their Hotmail? :boggle:

I wanted to ask a member of staff something about the Mac Mini, they all seemed too busy chatting to each other and wanking over their iPhones! :rolleyes:

Definately not a positive shopping experience for me. :( Anyone else's Apple stores like the above?
