Can you not do it from the account section of xbox.com accounts page?

Hi.
Trying to delete a hotmail account/ windows live.
However it wont let me as its linked with an xbox gamertag?

So i phone xbox helpline. The cant delete the link or unlink the 2 accounts.

Any ideas?
