that's what I've got chucked in the attic, does the job perfect. Some decent cabling and jobs a good one

no because the signal will go into the freeview box which has SCART connections

I've got an indoor aerial for the TV upstairs, downstairs is on Virgin.

Upstair signal is ok. Took a bit of faffing around to get it in the right place but works now.

If your TV hasn't got an aerial socket your a bit fucked though aren't you?

i've never had any success getting digital on an indoor aerial tbh (not one of those table top ones though) but i'm not particularly close to the transmitters. My aerial now is just a full size £9.99 one from argos wedged against the roof beams and that works fine.

it would appear i have one close which does broadcast digital signal and one that doesnt.

Would an indoor aerial be sufficient for this? or would you advise and outdoor one?

Also how do you determine which one your connected to?

yes it does indeed, I can point mine at mendip in somerset and get all the westcountry channels along with all the other crap, and if I point it a different direction I get a poor welsh signal with s4c etc. there are still a fair few transmitters that don't broadcast digital signals though.

nope, there is no TV tuner in the TV, has components and SCART connections, no aerial

If you buy a regular portable TV aerial it will have one of these on the end - presume that will go into the back of the TV?

the freeview site list i should get all channels but the digitalspy site says it wont be availble until 2012!

The are both referring to different transmitter, is there a way to find out which one im using and i i can change it to the transmitter which has freeview?

Alternativally, the TV in the bedroom as no TV tuner (is a 42" plasma presentation screen) can you buy such a thing as an external tv tuner which plugs into your SCART connection?

A reverse of my situation. We aren't supposed to get Freeview but I get every channel. Go figure

Yes, our old aerial at home gives 4 or 5 channels, but is otherwise useless. You'll need a wideband aerial instead.

Have you tried a portable aerial direct to the freeview box?

I have a freeview box at home which is getting no freeview signal although the normal aerial works, downstairs and in the bedrooms.

I checked on the Freeview site and i should get freeview where is live and i know the freeview box works.

Is it possible that my aerial doesnt support the freeview signal?
