The main point behind jailbreaking is to use 'homebrew' apps that aren't allow on Apples App list for various reasons (ie: apps that may be against TOS etc like free tethering on the iPhone). Jailbreaking also allows you to use cracked (apple signed) apps, just go hunting on your favourite 'shop' and you'll find plenty of cracked apps for your jailbroken iphone/ipod touch.

the point is not free app's..

the point is being able to do stuff with it that apple dont let you, like theme's and rejected app store apps..

just got a ipod touch 3g. ive jailbroken it but i cant see the point cant anyone give me some tips. i thought the point was free apps etc??
