You're looking for a board with an AM2 socket, so yeah the Asus M4A78L will be fine....

My processor is AMD Athlon 64x2 4200+ will this work with the m4a78l board? as that one is similar size to my current one :)

use a app called CPU-Z, you'll find out what processor you have and then you can go from that as you'll need a board to match the processor (and there have been a few different sockets over the last few years).

Asus M4A78L-M LE AMD 760G is good as long as you have an AMD AM2 processor (there' also AM3 and if it's old enough it could be something like a Socket 7 etc).

isn't the ASUS M2V-TVM an AMD board? If that's the case then you'll need a new processor as well as the Asus P5QPL-AM Intel G41 is obviously intel.....

Edit - however i think the M2V has a PCI-E slot, so you can swap out the graphics card if you wish...

Currently i have...

-ASUS M2V-TVM - Motherboard - micro ATX - K8M890
-radeon x1600 ddr2 graphics card

And i want know if i can upgrade to this motherboard/graphics card.

-Asus P5QPL-AM Intel G41 motherboard (still micro atx)
-XFX ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB graphics card.

Reason i want to upgrade is my current motherboard is maxed out to 2gb ram and i ideally want 4 and the one i want is capable of 8gb and the graphics card has hdmi output which i want :)
