When I looked at us having HD in both rooms they wanted to charge the £10 HD subscription for both of the boxes... on top of the £10 multiroom

While on the subject, I have one sky hd box with HD subscription already.

Id imagine you could persuade them to give you a + box for free if you're getting all that at once.

They don't normally give you 2 deals in one go, if you are getting free sky hd I doubt you'll get free sky+ as well.

My Mum wants to go for this. So they'll have a Sky+ box in the living room and I'll have a SkyHD box for my sports etc. but they want £99 for a Sky+ box. Is there any way to get it for free with a promotional code or are they likely to give it free if we ring and ask?

quote: Yeah the warranty is the bit I dont want to lose out on. Now I've thought about it I may aswell get a free HD box and use the £200 I would of spent on a Sky+ box to get 20 months of HD subscription

I'll be wanting to watch Sky Sports in my bedroom and they wont want to be watching it in the living downstairs. Multiroom is the only way I can do that as far as I know

tbh just spend the £200 and get the warranty on it, in my experience of Sky+ boxes you'll need it.

If the sky in the bedroom doesnt have to be separate viewing then id just hook a sky link up pretty easy to do.

We aren't existing Sky customers so we have nothing to threaten to cancel...

When you look at the price of new SkyHD boxes on ebay I'm probably better getting the free HD box direct from Sky & paying the extra subscription for it. At least I get the warranty then

you dont have to get the box from them no, but they might charge more for installation and you wont have warrenty

So I dont have to get the 2nd box off them? That would be good. I could get a HD box for my room that way too and get the free BBC HD channels...

if you buy a 2nd hand box, just a basic one that will do. they will have to install it but all you need to do is add multiroom to the subscription.

At the moment we have no Sky, just normal TV so starting from scratch here. |
