yup am2+ will allow am3 cpu's to fit in it, aslong as that cpu is supported by the BIOS. and i ant find a list of cpu's this mobo supports | |

the cpu is socket AM3 and the board is AM2, you need to match them up buddy. that board also only has 1 ide drive, but if you get that dvd drive you can plug that into one of the SATA slots on the board | |

i have been looking at all sorts all I want / need is to be able to use my 2 hdd an dvd writer so i need a board with 2 IDE connections | |

Any board you buy will accomodate your IDE devices so that's sorted. | |
