I've got my taskbar exactly the same as I had it on vista, which was just about exactly the same as XP.

Well i resized a partition and stuck it on, running Ultimate now - so far so good. Not sure if i like it though (would be nice if you could make the taskbar/app bars smaller like XP), but it does seem a lot quicker than Vista and probably on par with my XP64 partition (day to day OS), will see though when i get running Cubase/PT/Adobe Packages.

I'm running windows 7 64bit, not entirely convinced on the version I've got though, had few random restarts. This is the second one I've tried, whilst using the last one I had installed I put the network meter gadget on and it was almost maxing out my connection, upload and download whilst nothing else was running. Quite strange

I've not got a RAID setup so not sure about that.

I got one when it first came out, just checked the md5 was legit, 64 bit version.

I've not had to install drivers for anything apart from my imon ultrabay, it automatically finds everything else.

7loader for activating?

Windows 7 Ultimate Original (x86-x64) Build.7600.16385 (get the 64bit ver) is what i'm looking at, sounds about right?

Also did you have to install any chipset drivers or anything? Does it take care of raid drivers as well for installation (as XP you have to press F6 or something then load the drivers via floppy etc before it see the raid array to install on)?

Which version is it that i should "buy"? :o I'm guessing the RTM Ultimate? (Build 7600.16385?) Once activated, i'm guessing it doesn't need to be activated a few months/days after?

Anyone know the deal with updating W7 RTM using windows update?
