Or... have you tried putting the Virgin box over component cable? (normal leads will do... don't have to be specifically bought as "component" cable) Then run the PS3 into the HDMI.

i was goin try that, but the coponent lead from ps3 to tv, is different that from virgin box to tv. ps3 to tv is like a block connector, then 5 wires, whereas the virign box is 5 component out

I know that.. I'm running my ps3 over component. I meant try some standard RCA cables from the virgin box to the telly (3x singles of course, plus the pair for sound.)

Is the resolution set correctly on the PS3 to what the TV can handle?

yeah i used to use ps3 through hdmi, and it never made tv go off at all, im thinkin maybe the component connection in tv may be dodgy, as if i unplug component plug from ps3, and plug it back in, it comes straight back, where as when it goes off on its own, it takes a few seconds get picture back up.

would having a hdmi splitter be best? so that i have ps3 and virgin box going to hdmi splitter box, then box to tv? like this thing below......

You can get HDMI switches BTW.. I actually saw one in Asda for £15 made by Philips (manual button press one).

However, I think they're much gay... try and sort the component issue... much better way of doing it.

i have my ps3 connected upto tv via component cables cuz i dont have 2 hdmi connections, i currently have ps3 connected via component cables but every 5 mins or so the tv goes blank when ps3 on, and comes back about 5 seconds later, but never does it with virgin media connected by hdmi.

can i get a hdmi switch thing, or anyone know what may be wrong?
