I think its a good phone, but things like the battery life do let it down.
Woman from O2 has send me another to try and il compare it to this one. Might just take the new one that comes and sell it on, cant be doing with all this arsing about!

Yea the WiFi finder tool is a right bastard for battery life as well

My 8GB will last about 3 days at a push, normally 2 though if I have my normal routine of sending about 20 texts a day, making a couple of calls and listening to music through headphones for about 2 hours

I find it strange that the n96 "powerhouse" has the 950mAh battery whereas my n85 which is smaller and uses the oled screen, which needs no power, has the 1200mAh. :boggle:

About 2.5 out of the E55 :) and it gets abused for email via 3G as I'm waiting on job application responses

How new is it? Not sure if the battery technology is the same, but when I first got my 6300, the battery life was dyer. It took a few charges to 'wake' it up and get it to full battery life.

Cheers Danny, you think its acceptable for it to be flat in 9hours?

The N95 had a setting enabled by default that switched between GSM and 3G networks or something every few seconds and that saps battery life, so try finding that feature on yours?

I find leaving bluetooth on on my 8GB also does use battery faster

The main problem is the shitty capacity - 950mAh, same as the N95 battery and smaller than the 8GB one :|

edit - also try reducing screen brightness so its still clear and comfortable, as this uses battery a lot, and if it works anything like the N95 make sure you close and shut down all applications when finished with them (by pressing 'Exit', not just using the red button) as they may stay in RAM consuming power

Anyone elses N96 battery life crap?

I have updated to V12.043 software and at first i thought it helped but i charged it overnight and today by 4.00 its beeping at me saying battery flat, bluetooth on all day but that shouldnt make that much difference should it?
Made about 4 3-4min phone calls

O2 have offered to swap it but i just wondered if this is normal?
