yes, a priority value is set in the packet header, but still requires a compatable switch to do anything with it?

That looks like just what he wants, draft n and QoS to play his xbox, because the QoS packets will mean anything outside his network, and probably not in it either.

QoS is set in packet headers, which routers will respond to :)

Excuse me? I thought QoS is a switching feature that will priorotise (i can't spell i know) certain traffic over others - based on packet header information

It'll just be faulty, i've got the exam same router and it's working fine, I had a different make one previously and it eventually started overheating and randomly cutting off, just happens.

Netgear is what ive got now....could it be just a faulty unit? or a lesser model? (got it off Virgin media for £40 when buying a broadband package about - god, over a year a go! - but it was sat in a box til november lol)

I'm getting fed up of my one klonking out every time i turn my xbox on, then having the pull the plug once or twice to reset it, then wait for it to all load up before I can go on XBL. |
