keep linux on it, it can do most things windows can but better. Dont listen to the haters.

Linux is easy, its just that most of you have been brain washed by the way windows works.

This is the reason linux hasn't taken over the world, i'm into computers and I can't even be annoyed trying to install stuff on linux.

XP isn't slow or unstable and IE is the browser most sites are designed for so I don't see how the linux browser is better?

You wouldn't be better off. That version of Linux (Limpus if it's the same laptop I've seen). Is very stable and very quick; which as you only want MSN and an internet browser would be better than XP (and by the sounds of it, not illegal).

You're incredibly unlikly to get a virus on it too.

XP would run slower and be less stable (though with XP that's not really an issue) and more prone to virus attacks and of course it's windows so would need reformatting every 12 months or so.

why is xp so much better? i dont get why id be better off?

Its simple and easy to use, switch it on, 2 secs late its loaded up, 1 click and im on the internet, or on msn.

Not wanting linux for stabilty, i just read, been told its alot more stable, and alot less virus prone than any windows software

Hiya Dan

contradicting yourself a bit, your just using it for browsing and msn and then you say you want linux for stability, xp will be fine on it, and lets face, XP is pretty stable.

i'd install XP if i were you, u2u me if you need a "legitimate copy" :|

had a discussion about going on xp just now, dont see the point, its literally only getting used for browsing and msn.

no benefit to go to it, and its less stable and slower
