I disabled SATA Native mode in BIOS and it seems to be installing fine :D | |

You need to create a custom XP discs with SATA drviers for your hard drive from yhe laptop manufature. | |

No but, it wont let me as during the XP installation it says "Cannot locate hard drive". How do I make it locate a hard drive? | |

All the data you want to keep, as it will have to format the hard drive to install XP. | |

backup to another drive/CD/DVD and then format and install, only way of going back to XP | |

The downgrade is installing xp from scratch, you can't downgrade in that sense of the word. | |

How easy is it? I've tried doing it on my new laptop that came with XP but it says cannot locate HDD's. |
