quote: as Dom has said its against the o2 T&Cs but you can get apps (once jailbroken) that you can tether the iphone to laptop and use as a modem. however, i know of people who have done this in the states (on AT&T) and been told to stop by the network provider havent heard of anyone trying it on o2 yet so dont know how theyd react to it

quote: Or do what i did, purchased iPhone on ebay for £300, stuck an 02 3g PAYG sim card in it, called up O2, they activated the 12 months unlimited internet and i top up £10 a month and get 500 free txts and use the £10 on calls but most of the time i have £7-8 left at the end of each month.

Another option is to purchase the phone from ebay and then go onto the O2 simplicity tarrif - works out cheaper in the long run if you can get the phone fairly cheaper (average price on ebay is around £300 for the 3G iPhone).

Tarrifs and prices are set by o2 and apple. What it says on o2.co.uk is the best u get
