I've recently had to phone the automated lines for vista and xp, you just answer a couple of automated questions and it gives you an activation code.

It must reset as well because the next time I used the key it let me activate online.

The automated xp line normally lets you activate anyway without speaking to anybody no matter what you say.

I can't but Mircosoft allow you to use XPP with a Vista Business licence.

Your ment to put in an existing XPP key from another machine, phone the activation line and they tell you a special activation ID for a downgrade licence.

Why would you be able to activate xp with a vista key?

What a waste of time.

Trying to get my XP laptop activated which came with Vista on the sticker.

The woman was telling me that it's illegal, cannot be done. So I hung up on her.

Rung back, next woman didn't know what I want talking about either. She eventually activated it for me.

Is there a place in the UK you can call and talk to a human with a British accent about activating and XPP install with a Vista licence key
