Only because that's all Dell are offering on the XPS's now. I was just trying to figure what mine doesn't have, and what their ones do...

Do you need dual core for laptops? Is there any reason to go for a dual core over a single CPU?....

Mine's got 2.2ghz Centrino, 4gb RAM, 320gb HDD, LED display 1280x800, 128mb GPU.

All for £599. It's not dual core, which is why it's cheaper than the ones on dell.com...

whats within reason? sony made the small ones made from carbon fibre that weigh just over 1kg. the one i've seen wasn't particularly impressive and cost close to 2 grand at the time iirc
