John, we've had this argument before, but you put mac's down fair to quickly without thinking that people actually use Mac's because A) software is mac only and B) Windows can't handle the software/hardware if it has been ported - ie: Protools/Digidesign (was rewritten from ground up for windows and it's still shit. Mac's are roughly 25-50% quicker in protools when against a similar spec'd pc system running Windows). Whittie, what's the system going to be used for? If it's just gaming and general stuff then 2k is just burning cash as you could easily spec out a solid system for half that if not a third of that. PS - as said, sod Alienware or any other bodged company right off. Spending that sort of money it's worth signing up to a load of forums and doing a load of research.
