The port on an iBook is an Apple port, so you need the Apple adapter which is about £10 from the Apple Store to connect to VGA.

quote: No, but you'll probabaly need a DVI to VGA converter (unless you have a monitor with a DVI connection) This is if its a fairly new laptop anyway, because they all come with DVI A DVI to VGA converter looks like this

I'm not up on Apples, so does it need to be an Apple monitor too?

The screens normally swap over no problem, depends how much you have to strip down though.

Can you get the converter from the store or do you have to contact them?

My nephew has pulled my brothers iBook off a unit breaking the screen. Its come off the hinges but all cables still seem intact. The laptop still turns on but not the screen. He has another iBook so is it possible to plug it in to this one to retrieve the data? |
