As drunkenfool says - fine if all your media is in iTunes compatilble format but if its DivXs etc then you either have to start hacking around AppleTV or have to recode everything which can be a pain in the arse.

You can build a simple HTPC for not a lot of money.

Would be ideal if all your media was legitimaly bought from iTunes, but otherwise I can see it being a pain in the ass.

Mate of mine in work has one which he said is good but it's a pain converting everything to play on it

Went to an exhibition earlier today and saw Apple TV

For the price I think its a good competitor for the Media Center.
I have a full blown Media Center PC downstairs, but I would consider one of these for the bedroom. There are two options available, £199 and (cant remember the second), but they will play videos from network storage.
