Ian, if he has deleted it the drivers will remain in the System32 folder.

You don't need to reboot. F5 will refresh the drivers.

I use Driver Agent a lot for drivers. Made work pay for a subscription rather than spending there time crawing the net for drivers every few weeks.

Or will at least prompt you to do so, no use if you don't have the driver though.

I was going to suggest getting a properties on there to see if you could get a device id string (xxxx:xxxx) and therefore track some drivers down.

removed the sound device program by accident now. no sounds will play thro my speakers!

where can i download a new sound device from?
