i got a first generation ipod nano which i bought ages ago. still works and everything. i've not used it for a long time and today i thought i would start using it again. plugged the device to my pc and it told me to update the software on the ipod. so i did. now it says my ipod is corrupt and it can't access any files AND it won't show any music on the ipod itself

my biggest problem is that the music that was on it was my only copy. i havn't used it for ages (about a year) and i don't have any of it backed up:mad:

anyone know any other way to get into the ipod?
