RAM is really cheap now - You can get decent Kingston memory 2 GB (2x1GB) PC2-5300 DDR2 for under £25 now.

Due to the recent huge uptake in new laptops thats take DDR2 the price of RAM has fallen massivly. Unfortunatly the older DDR ram does not sell as well thus is more expensive

It'll be exactly the same, no differences at all.

TBH, I wouldn't trust £11 RAM anyway- you get what you pay for.

If i buy RAM from the US will it work in my laptop? I assume there is no difference whatsoever as it is a hardware level not software elvel, plus it isnt plugged into the mains directly?

This is bad news, arseholes have 3200 RAM at £43 a stick and 5400 at £11 a stick, robbing bandits

Can't put DDR2 in DDR slots, IIRC.

Hey y'all, I used to be on top of computer components and what will work with what but I've lsot track now so just want some clarification.

My laptop has 2 slots, 1GB PC3200 in each one maximum. Can I put in PC2-5400 etc and it still work, albeit at PC3200 speeds? Or do I have to have just normal DDR?
