Apple choose the tariffs as they get a % of the revenue
Thought that was the case as the bills with AT&T have apple logo on them and come in a box.

35 a month for 200 txts and 200 mins is just not good enough, ive got unlimited texts and 600 mins with a magic number for 35 a month with orange!!
they would definetly sell more if the tariffs were better

Its not a great phone! it looks nice, the interface is ok, but its shit for a phone!
Apple are releasing new versions this year as they now realise they need better features on it, and plus its just way over priced.

£1000 over a year. I'm not surprised they're not selling.

iPhone: indicators point to a mixed Christmas performance
O2 has seen much lower percentage of returns on the Apple iPhone than expected, writes mobiletoday.co.uk citing unnamed O2 sources. O2 has seen disappointing sales of the iPhone since its launch on 9 November 2007, although sales did pick up in the week before Christmas. Most O2 stores are understood to have missed their iPhone sales targets, with a typical-sized store selling one device a week. However, in the week before Christmas, sales increased to one unit per day in many stores and more in larger stores in city centres. An unnamed O2 source said that shoppers started buying them after realising they would not be billed until registering. Carphone Warehouse, O2's exclusive iPhone partner, said there was a lot of interest in the iPhone, but low sales as most were put off by the price. One Carphone worker told mobiletoday that their store sold just 1-2 iPhones over Christmas. Rumours are circulating that the cost of the iPhone will be lowered from £270 in the coming months, or that the current tariffs will be improved.
