PS3 can only play Blu-Ray and normal DVD and DVD-R, RW, ROM.

But it also upscales DVD into HD resolutions. Which makes a fair difference, but not as dramatic as an actual Blu-Ray.

The Xbox HD DVD player can only play HD DVD and does not upscale normal DVD, as far as I know. (Does it even play normal DVD or do you have to use the 360 DVD drive?)

I don't know much about the differences but you wont be able to play HD DVD on a PS3

I've got a few dvd's on each format now.... what is the difference??

Ps3 - blu ray.... can they plan hd's aswell?

Just wondering, saves me buying the dvd attachment for the xbox :)
