Thats the thing, I was going to build a media center computer. But this just seems so much easier and much more cost effective. Plus I an easily move it between TV's if the need arises.
I will check youtube for videos of it in operation now, cheers :D

I really considered that netgear myself. I seem to remember watching a long 2 part video review of it on you tube and thought it looked pretty good. I didnt have the money to buy it then though.
I think it will play just about anything!
I have a full blown media center in my living room and may eventually consider one of these in the bedroom. very slim.
You can also use it to play youtube videos (from the site) too.

I am looking into getting this:
Netgear EVA8000HD
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/135809
and pairing it with:
D-Link DNS-323 NAS
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/124390
Any reviews on the netgear?
I currently have alot of .avi's on hard drive that I want to watch on the TV, I assume the netgear can handle all the common codecs etc? Can I search through my folders to get to the .avi's like you can using the xbox media center for the original xbox?
