To be honest, after reading online... the one's that suffer the ring of death, seem to be lacking thermal paste over the processor... So it isn't losing / distributing the heat like it should!

There was a guy who got one, then opened it up, covered his CPU in paste and it got rid of his red lights.

if your xbox 360 has survived a long enough time, it'll continue to be fine.

I was told that all 360's would be shipped with the 60nm Chips in the new year, although I haven't seen any evidence to support this

new ones use the 60nm? Is there anyway to tell between a 60nm and non-60nm elite - like serial number/manufacturer date etc?

im looking at getting an elite, but have they changed to 60nm chips yet? And have they solved the over heating issues?

Also, anyone seen the cheapest place to buy one? So far Costco's are selling them for £289.99 (controller, cables, no games though), which is about the cheapest i've seen it so far....

elites should now have the 60nm chip, dont think they suffer from the overheating problems of the old ones
