or if you have an external usb memory source, ie usb hardrive, or usb memory stick, download knoppix, with the laptop hdd in your new laptop, you should be able to boot into knoppix off a cd, read the data and copy it onto the memory stick | |

Get an enclosure for it from ebay, £10 odd, then hook it up to the new laptop, and transfer everything on to it. | |

some laptop hardrives will connect straight into a PC IDE cable and windows will pick it up, otherwise youl need a laptop hdd usb adaptor off ebay | |

The screen is fucked, so I can't even copy them to CDs, can I connect the old HDD to my new laptop somehow to get them? |
