your going to be looking at throwing £300-400 for anything decent IMO.

See Dan's thread for a not so bad spec http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=389228

Other than the £900 one, this is the most expensive Intel bundle OC do, is it any good?

hhmm, how much would I need to spent for a decent setup? I mean mobo + memory + cpu.

I had a look at the bundles on OC but i'm not really up with hardware these days so I dunno whats hot and whats not.

Yup, you'll end up spending a fortune if you rebuild it

Its pointles supgrading if you dont go for the newest, as will only mean spending again in the future if you want to upgrade anything else.

FFS.

What's a good socket to go for?

Perhaps I will just buy some DDR RAM otherwise I'm basically rebuilding my PC.

AMDs are outdated now, let alone the socket :P:P

Intel: P35 is newest socket
AMD: AM2 is newest (although not too new!) I think.

hhmm, what socket is in fashion at the mo? Think mine is 939 with an AMD chip, is 939 outdated now or can I upgrade the mobo and keep the same chip?

Do you plan of upgrading your PC sometime in the next 6months?

As if I were you I'd get some more DDR memory for now (if you have to) then upgrade your MoBo in the future to support both DDR2 and DDR3.

DDR2 stuff has been out a while now, so it does offer better perofrmance over DDR though, so would be worth the upgrade.

I want to put another 2GB of RAM into my PC to give me 3GB.

My mobo only supports DDR. I really don't fancy upgrading my mobo so I can get DDR2.

Is there much of a difference?
