well, i installed the kingston ram above and the new CPU and its remarkly better. loading games, apps and its even taking the jaggedness out of bioshock, im well impressed. (going from 1gb to 2gb).

One thing that is bugging me, is the vista experience has increased my cpu score considerably, but decreased my ram score from 4,1 to 3.7 and i only had 1gb or corsair value ram inside. ITs a shame i cant find out why its decreased.

I'm running Kingston RAM. Got 2GB and running Windows XP. Not had a problem with it in the 2 years i've had it. My PC runs 24/7 too.

When i built this PC i was reading that you won't have as many motherboard compatibility issues with generic RAM. Got my stuff cheap off a lad on here so got the branded stuff.

Time i started to think about getting a new PC now though :(

What OS you using.

As XP wont make use of a little of 3GB, so unless you running Vista dont bother with anything over 3.

i wouldnt personally bother with the cpu upgrade unless u still feel a need for more perfromance after u whack a bit more ram in there it may b cheap but probably not worth the performance boost ur gonna get

i might go for 4gb of: http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=343Z&CategorySelectedId=11150&PageMode=1&NavigationKey=11150,4294960195,4294959239
doesnt seem too bad, timings are quite fast too 2-3-3-6-1T at 400MHz.

Yeah they both look good value, can't believe the price of components these days :!. Have really come down in price.

That processor seems a good price.

lol, i couldnt copy/paste so i typed it quickly :)

I had corsair value and wasnt too keen on it.
Was looking at this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-092-CR&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=481
And for £70 was considering upgrading my amd 3500 single core to the 939 dual core 4200 (found at bottom of page).

Worst manual ever if that is the true spelling

Crucial / Kingston / Corsair all decent.

I Desperately need to get my RAM sorted out. My mobo manual states:

quote:

Dual channel Memeory,
4x 184 Ping Dimm Scoskets, support ECC/non ECC unbufferred 400/333/266 Mhz DDR memory modules.
Supports up to 4g.

Can anyone make any good recommendations? I didnt want to get nasty cheap ram this time round. (but dont want to spend more than £80) or so.
I may also look to get 3gb if possible.
