r if thats the case and your internet comes through cable you need...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Netgear-WGR614-Wireless-Cable-Router/dp/B00008SCFL/ref=pd_bbs_2/202-3826619-2759036?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1190930078&sr=8-2

that will work fine, the cable from your exsiting modem goes straight into the router and then a cable from the router goes into the pc.

and this will not slow down my connection to the PC?

So just to clarify as I'm a noob to this lark. The BB wire would go into the Router, then the modem, then to PC so its looping through the router?

and the Wii will detect the connection from the router?

:look:

Yeah, should do.

no if you are on an adsl connection (broadband through the telephone line) there is no seperate modem the broadband cable goes straight into the router which is also a modem then 1 wire comes out of that into the pc and thats it.

router has a built in modem.

and yes that one will work if your are on adsl broadband.

so the BB modem is before the router?

Doesn't affect it.

ssj_kakarot

why the pc connection will still use a wire any way through the router, you will not notice one bit of slow down on the pc at all.

Scotty_B

If however I decide to buy a router would this slow my 10mb BB down?

If this is the case could I buy a splitter so that the BB wire would go straight to my Modem and another wire to the router, this meaning the PC connection doesn't use the router? :o

:P

You can't really.

You can receive a message and the Wii will light up but you can't get it to remain on.

Scotty_B

Just got a Wii and was wondering how the hell do you get the light around the CD slot to stay on?

It is and never will be connected to the net.

Cheers :)
