i might trade mine in and pay the difference when the 6nm comes out, what kind of price to game pay for 2nd hand premium 360's?

It is a real hdmi port, not a breakout box.

They also do not have the 65nm chips yet although this should change in the near future.

no point in getting one for me really, my STB uses my only HDMI port. Component will do me fine.

only way i will get one is if i take my 360 back as broken and ask to swap it for the elite and pay the difference.

they were more than happy for me to do that with a ps3

If I did'nt already have one i'd get the Elite, but don't see the point at the minute.

wont be buying one!
shall be waiting untill the warrenty runs out on this one, then buying a black casing for it, along with the bigger harddrive, neveruse the xbox for movies or the such so no point in upgrading just for the hd out put

Nath

£299 aren't they?

not enough difference to warrant the price tbh, bigger harddrive, hdmi and supposedly better cooling ( not sure if thats true or not).\

i wish companies would stop bringing out updated models of things though, its kind of like kicking the people who adapt the consoles first in the face.

or at least wait a considerable time before releasing upgraded models.

yeah the have better cooling but mine has just come back from ms so has the same cooling, it doesnt look like a proper hdmi output either! looks like a little box that goes into the existing style output and converts it

Nath

In that case I have no idea, sound quality maybe.

Dom

component can carry 1080p, but thats the limit really. The only advantage with having the HDMI port is that you can watch films using the HD-DVD drive add-on at 1080p. Whereas, component is limited to 1080i when playing back HD-DVD's because of firmware (theres a reason why, but forgotten).

Would love a elite, just because its black - but don't think i could justify the price for one. What are the differences? I heard they were going over to 65nm chips and the cooling has changed but can't find anything about it all.....

Kurt

my normal xbox 360 can use 1080i and 1080p with component

HDMI can carry 1080p, not sure Component can.

I could be wrong though.

so its out on friday, anyone bothering to get one? is it worth upgrading to one?

any benefit of hdmi over component?
