Sony Vaio would be Blu-ray, yes? It'd be marked on the drive itself I think. Mine is marked DVD, +R/RW, etc.

I would say your well into the 2K+ for a laptop with a HD-DVD drive build in + a 1920x1080 res screen

go to device manager and check to see if it is or not. Could just be a graphics card with Hdmi output

Unless you paid a LOT of money for it it won't have an hd-dvd player no.

....That because my new vaio laptop has an Hdmi output, it has an hd Dvd player(the laptop has a 1080p screen, so does this mean the hdmi is for playing hd films on the laptop?):boggle:
