You can burn .avi files straight to dvd by using a programme called "ConvertXToDVD" can be "bought" many places on the net.

vob files burn straight to DVD, just set up a Video DVD under Nero and drag the vob files to the video folder - pretty straight forward.

.img/.iso/.bin/ (.cue are cue files, not actual image files) files are cd/dvd images so they again burn straight to cd/DVD. There also a few other image files but you need to use certain burning software etc

Otherwise, if it's avi/mpg etc then they need to be converted to vob format which takes a few hours depending on how long the film is etc

Only thing to make sure is that the DVD media you have will fit the film you're downloading - ie: single layered dvds store 4.5GB and dual layered DVDs around 8GB

Bin/Cue files are just “image” files that CD Burning sofwares use to create a CD.

.iso files should burn straight with Nero
.vob or .img files can be converted easily to .iso using DVDShrink (which can be downloaded free and legally)
