The very first K800i firmware had this issue on O2. I had to tell O2 about it because the MMS would not work. Got an update off sony and all was well. I'd imagine on the K810i this would be sorted but doesn't hurt to upgrade the firmware using the sony ericsson update service.

TBH, my girlfiend had trouble with recieving picture messages also, she's on o2. she could send them though :S.
have you been to the phones website and had the mms settings sent out?
