Mic socket, line-in, it's all the same shite and hasn't ever done my gear any harm at all.

Nice one lads. That adapter thingy, I assume I will still be able to enjoy stereo sound? i.e. it's not mono?

Out the back of the skybox and into your mic socket on your standard sound card. Job done.

you fail ;)

you dont plug a fixed-voltage input into the mic jack on the soundcard, but infact plug it into the line-in port :P

get an RCA->3.5mm jack convertor, and plug it into the line in from the RCA Audio Outs on the back of the sky box

OK I have a Sky box, PC speakers, and obviously a PC.

Is there any way I can have the sound from the Sky box played through my PC/speakers without having my TV on? I'm assuming I need some sort of TV/sound card for my PC that has RCA connectors on the back? :boggle:
