quote: The XDA isn't a business phone it's a PDA with a built in phone! The D500/600 are as much business phones as the N73. I think you're confusing "business" and "legal", my friend. I'll fax you copies of all invoices, purchase orders, letters, reports etc with my name on it. If you find one with my surname first, I'll personally sterilise your arse crack with my tongue.

quote: mate i have an o2 XDA and and THAT is a business phone. They used surename then first name and in all my business letter and documents i have ever read it has surename first. D500/600 was NOT a business phone for sure it was created for your average person, i have never seen a real business person with a samsung, they normally either have a PDA or blackberrys.

You'll soon get used to it - I'd leave it personally but that's just me.

quote: If that's the case I suppose I'll need to live with it. Would have been nice if it was switchable, though. I'll go through the most commonly texted people and just append the surname to the firstname.

Bad form to reply to my own post...but WTF are on about "in the business world they do surname firstname" Last time I called a colleague I called them by their first name. Can't get over how stupid that sounds!

Does it on my N80 so it's operating system related - doesn't bother me much though tbh

quote: Yes, but it's an irritant. Just like if it was a different colour from what I'd like. It's my phone and it's me that needs to live with it every day. quote: Correct, but I'm not asking about the phonebook just now. quote: Em. D500/600 weren't designed for business use? Hokayyyyyyyyyyy!

why does it even matter tho, you are still going to know who it is when it comes up arent you? and if you have changed it on your phonebook then its even less of and irritant. Your samsung didnt do it cos it wasnt designed for business use and in the business world they do surename then firstname. Just get used to it.

quote: That would be a valid suggestion if I was sitting adding each name one by one. Bit late when I've imported near on 200 names that are all formatted correctly isn't it? My Samsung had no issues displaying them correctly, why does the Nokia?!
