Im sure there are easier ways to do it but what I would do is download Knoppix and boot that from the CD. From there you can explore the file system and make a copy of the password file. Then de-crypt the file with a program you can get online. | |

i have a program you can use, put it on to a floppy disc boot off floppy and it will let you create and delete and change passwords | |

ctrl-alt-del twice at the logon screen will bring up a box to change the username to administrator if its windows xp using the fancy logon | |

If it's XP Home then the admin pass will probs be blank, so safe mode would work. I used to do this on my brothers laptop. | |

if it's the password where the blue screen comes up and you have user accounts then yes you can. i just can't remember how :o | |

Basically missus moved out of her flat a couple of weeks ago and found a laptop someone had left there at some point, asked around if its anyones but no one knows anything about it :boggle: |
