would I be better off spending on the one ive got then do you reckon?

in order to have dual core etc id need a new mobo would i not?

does the grpahic card depend on quality of video?

you wanting to use it as a media centre (storing, recoding and playing music and vids)?

If so then you want a decent graphics card with it. And if you were wanting to use it for a decent amount and quality then you'd not want to use cheap components.

I have an os here, I wana buy something so I can use as a recording computer etc..

if your on a budget then it isnt too bad. Not the most upto date components though and comes with no OS so would have to spend a little more for that.
