i can't tell you EXACTLY how to do it right now, but first of all put your ethernet cable from the Wii to the laptop then go to control panel and go to network connections. right click the connection you use and hopefully there should be an option for "sharing" click that and look for an option saying something like "share internet connection" etc, click ok. i don't know if it'll work on the Wii but thats what i did with the PS3 while my wireless router was messing about, it just tells the Wii that its allowed to use the internet through the laptop.

the ethernet wire goes into a usb lan adapter into the wii and the ethernet wire goes into my laptop through the LAN plug. my broadband goes through usb into the laptop so i think that is why i am struggling

probs would have just been as cheap to buy a wirless router and plug the pc into that then rn the wii through its built in wireless wirless router would have only cost you about 20 quid.

This might not be much help but if you have a laptop and a wii, why not just buy a cheapo wireless router? For the cost of one wii game you could get a router and you wouldnt need to faff around.

I've bought the wii lan adaptor but i'm not really sure how i get my wired internet connection to become a network on my laptop so i can use the wii's ethernet cable to connect to it. Instructions are not very helpful :( can anyone help me :(. at the moment my laptop is not set up as a network however i have ran the network setup as a home network but still no joy even when i connect up the cable. |
