Depends if you have overwritten that part of the disk. As abdus said, sometimes the files will not work correctly as part of file is pulled from slack space and the other part has been overwritten.

Loads of tools out there, just google it.

My recomendation is to use a Knoppix distribution such as Penguin Sleuth which will has lots of nice tools intergrated. It boots straight from the CD so won't touch your hard drive and over write those file you want. Download and burn to a CD from another system.

Never give me your PC to fix, i'll get your passwords and visited website history files you can't even see :lol: :cool:

I guess it depends how old they are. And sometimes, when recovered, they don;t work properly...
you can google, there are loads of recovery software
