Thats right Luigi, the difference between an upscaled dvd and hd dvd isn't that great imo. If you're going from normal scart viewing to HD DVD then you'll be blown away.

there are loads of players on the market that will upscale your DVDs  have a shop around. They do look better than normal DVDs but it all depends on the TV and the connection.

i think that upscale jobby on that dvd player matt posted seems pretty swarve. might get one of those. i mean dvd quality is good, if it can be made better than so be it....tbh i cant imagine there'll be a world of differnce between a true hd dvd and an upgraded quality one?

there isn't any difference really. Just 2 different formats. Blu ray being backed by Sony and will come as standard in their PS3 (hence the price). Blu ray discs can hold more information also.

£359 aint bad though if you want one especially as Blu ray are over £600

Cool. I just wondered as I was thinking that didn't seem a bad price if it was a HD player  Next best thing though till the proper ones come down in price?

Matty I don't think that is a proper HD player mate. It 'upscales' to give a better quality image but I don't think it's true HD.

an HD player will set you back hundreds of ££ mate and yes you need to purchase HD-DVDs. These are more expensive that conventional DVDs.
