I let Crucial come up with an upgrade for my PC. It came up with 2gb for £150. Would be very nice if that worked - I only have 256mb at the moment.

depends on what you go for, some of the higher quality ones will, others will show a good price but come with nothing!

:o

I might just go for that one I linked TBH.

One question (n00b style question).....

Do they come with any sensors? I.e. Temperature sensor?

I think its Thermal Take who are doing a case now with a motorised screen that comes out like a car radio/dvd player

Well that one I linked above looks pretty cool actually.

I remember coolermaster used to do a load which would be good as my case is coolermaster but im not too fussy.

I'm interested in getting something to fit in a drive bay like that to monitor the temperature and any other stuff that might be useful.

Any recommendations?

Wait for the next round of upgrades to come out first, if you try to upgrade or wait for each new technology it would cost you a fortune.

ok nice one :)

TBH I wish I had waited for dual core processors to drop a bit but never mind :look:

Grab yourself a copy of Custom PC mag, will give you some good reviews to base your ideas off. Then just research on the net for more info.

£100 is stupidly low then for the kind of performance you'd want from it. Expect to pay around £150 for some good value 2GB, and upto £350 for some decent 2GB

Cosmo

What type of RAM you got at the moment (DDR, DDR2)

James

Well I'm not planning on overclocking TBH, its an area that I dont know much about, was just planning on making it faster by upgrading :0

Cosmo

your best having 1gb of quality RAM rather than 2GB of cheap RAM, especially if your intending to overclock and se ehow fast you can get it.

James

I fancy upgrading my RAM, don't particularly need to but as I built the PC myself, I would like to see how fast I can get it :|

Currently have 1GB of Geil value and I want to upgrade to 2gb with a view to eventually upgrade to 4gb.

Is £100 a stupidly low budget for 2gb of RAM?
