Yeah but i had the same issues on mine, i just erset the phone with that code and its been fine ever since.

i can send him the txt message update thing as i have it on my n80, can just whack my mem card in his phone and instal it.

But Nis is that just a hardcore restore factory settings?

as it runs crap in general so i guess he needs the update ive no idea how old the phone is tho

Ok there is a quick fix BUT he will loose everything on the phoens memory so:

> Backup phonebook to Sim card
> Backup any pics and vids to memory card

and then press

*#7370#

Then it will ask for the phones lock code (default 12345 unless its been changed)

This will hard reset the phone and will resolve the TXT issue.

then he justs copys the contacts back over to phone and bobs your uncle.

Nah I just did mine again and the firmware rev on my phone is July 06 and the software updater says there are no new updates available....

I'm on O2 Btw

think there are definatley at least 1 version out? When they were released in my shop all of them were going tits up.

Then they re-released them about 2months ago with new software and all work fine!

No UK firmware updates for the N73 have been released since July as far as im aware....

Mates got an N73 and doing usual annoying things symbians do of being slow and sending a txt takes ages.

Told him to update it on nokia.co.uk as that will cure his woes, he then tells me hes got a mac
