I thought most modern TV's could handle both resolutions?

That's a bit of a pisser because some games will only operate at a certain res.

Somewhere in the initial settings you can choose between 50 and 60hz resolution

Take it you have checked the plug on the back is set to TV not HDTV

Sounds like its set to 1080p, set the xbox to 1080i and see if that changes it.

Right I just tried hooking the 360 up to the big TV in the house but I am having issues.....

Its a Philips 32PW9509

When I plug it in it shows to xbox screen for a split second then goes grey and slightly flickery.....

Now the xbox works on every other TV I have tried it on.... Is there a setting that needs changing on the TV perhaps?
Its not a HD TV and I have made sure everything is connected properly so that rules all that out...

Thanks
