this happend to mine recently, have a look for places that will give you a new one they will be listed on the apple website. mine cost me £51 for a brand new one and they take yours.

My mates ipod when you wake it up from sleep mode jus stays on the apple symbol and won't even turn the back light on! tried resetting it (menu and select) but it jus comes back to the apple logo screen:boggle:
I think its fucked but just thought I'd ask first:)
