Our main router and modem is a netgear one so should I buy a netgear switch?

doesnt matter, that one will be ok. if you want a netgear its upto you. it only controls traffic etc to the main router so isnt that important

aslong as you use a switch and then plug ethernet cable into 360 there will be problems. Its only the wireless adapters it get funny with

In my house in uni all our rooms are wired. So we have a network plug in our bedrooms. Now I was wondering if it would be poss to get a router to plug into my rooms network port to allow 2 devices to use my single line from the main router?

I wouldnt mind if it was just a switching box. Just want to be able to keep both my laptop and xbox plugged in but not fussed about using them both at the same time although that would be preferable :)
